Side Effects of Clomid (Clomiphene)

Quit taking Clomid and seek emergency medical attention if you experience an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives).

The ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) has been reported to occur in patients receiving Clomid. Symptoms of OHSS consist of swelling of the hands or legs, abdominal discomfort and swelling, shortness of breath, weight gain, and nausea or vomiting. OHSS could be fatal. Notify your physician immediately or seek emergency medical attention should you develop any of these side effects.

Other side effects may possibly also happen. Notify your doctor should you encounter

* ovarian enlargement presenting as abdominal or pelvic discomfort, tenderness, pressure, or swelling;
* flushing;
* nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea;
* breast tenderness or discomfort;
* blurred vision or other visual disturbances;
* headache; or
* abnormal uterine bleeding.

Clomid could improve the likelihood of several births. Several births could carry extra risk both for the mother and for the fetuses.

Side effects apart from those listed here could also happen. Talk to your physician about any side impact that seems unusual or which is specifically bothersome.
